  • Portfolio & Strategic Partnerships

The Senior Director Corporate Development will build and lead a focused transaction capability that identifies, evaluates and executes opportunities aligned with Adalvo’s strategy.

Job description

Adalvo is continuing to scale its differentiated, asset-light B2B pharmaceutical platform and broaden the strategic options through which it creates value. The Senior Director Corporate Development will build and lead a focused transaction capability that identifies, evaluates and executes opportunities aligned with Adalvo’s portfolio strategy, partner network and growth ambition in the inorganic space.

Working within Portfolio & Strategic Partnerships, the role sits at the intersection of portfolio strategy, M&A, science, commercial opportunity and capital allocation. It offers direct exposure to senior decision-making and the opportunity to shape transactions across companies, product portfolios, platforms, technologies and selected strategic assets.

The Senior Director Corporate Development will own the end-to-end M&A agenda, from strategic thesis and target origination through valuation, due diligence, negotiation, approval, signing, closing and transition into integration or value realisation. The role will convert Adalvo’s strategic priorities into a disciplined opportunity pipeline and bring fact-based recommendations to executive and Board-level decision forums.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain Adalvo’s M&A strategy, identifying opportunities that support growth, portfolio expansion and long-term value creation.

  • Build and manage a global pipeline of acquisition, investment, licensing and partnership opportunities.

  • Lead opportunity assessment, financial modelling, valuation and strategic business case development.

  • Structure, negotiate and execute transactions, including acquisitions, portfolio purchases, joint ventures and strategic investments.

  • Oversee end-to-end due diligence, coordinating cross-functional teams and external advisors.

  • Present recommendations, investment cases and transaction updates to senior leadership and the Board.

  • Lead negotiations and ensure successful transaction execution from origination through closing.

  • Support integration planning and monitor performance against the approved investment case.

  • Build strong relationships with industry partners, investors, advisors and key stakeholders across the pharmaceutical sector.

  • Collaborate closely with Portfolio, Strategic Partnerships, Scientific Affairs, Commercial, Finance, Legal, IP, Quality, Supply Chain and People & Culture teams.

  • Champion a culture of integrity, accountability, sound judgement and disciplined decision-making.

Job requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Life Sciences or a related discipline. MBA, CFA, scientific postgraduate qualification or equivalent transaction training is advantageous.

  • Substantial experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, transaction advisory, private equity or business development within pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare or a closely related sector.

  • Proven experience leading transactions through origination, valuation, due diligence, negotiation, approval, signing and closing.

  • Strong pharmaceutical business understanding, including the ability to assess product portfolios, development risk, regulatory pathways, IP position, market dynamics and supply considerations.

  • Advanced financial modelling, valuation and scenario-analysis capability, with the judgement to challenge assumptions and identify the true value drivers.

  • Experience coordinating complex cross-functional diligence and external advisers under demanding timelines and high confidentiality.

  • A credible track record of negotiating transaction structures and commercial terms with senior stakeholders, owners and counterparties.

  • Experience with integration planning, carve-outs, transition services or post-deal value realisation is highly valuable.

  • Excellent Leadership skills with ability to lead in a multinational environment.

  • Executive-level communication and the ability to convert complex analysis into concise, decision-ready recommendations.

  • Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally as required. A relevant deal sheet will be expected during the selection process.
